Third Annual Greenbuild Expo

0

The third annual Greenbuild Expo – a sustainable refurbishment and building event – takes place later this week, on 29th and 30th June, at Manchester Central.

The 2011 programme of workshops and seminars will give visitors the opportunity to hear from some of the industry’s leading names. Highlights will include Steve Gray from Cool Planet – part of British Gas – talking about the implications of the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and a session on the reality of the low-carbon refurbishment of commercial buildings, from Will Ray of the Carbon Trust.

Hot on the heels of the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) announcement, the UK’s only wood fuel event will be hosted within Greenbuild Expo 2011. This section of the event will have its own programme of seminars focusing on biomass, with advice from industry experts including Envirolink Northwest and Rural Development Initiatives. The dedicated area and accompanying seminars will provide visitors with the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in product innovation, legislation updates and showcase the very real alternatives that wood fuel provides in light of the Government’s commitment to RHI.

SolarEdge will also be on hand to host two free training sessions at the Expo. Aimed at PV installers, contractors, social housing professionals and property management companies, the seminar will show delegates how to harvest up to 25% more energy from solar PV installations.

With 180 exhibitors, the Greenbuild Expo is recognised as the largest sustainable building and refurbishment event in the north of the UK. It is open to trade visitors only through ticket or on the door registration.

The event is sponsored by Solfex energy systems, Wagner Solar UK, Buderus and Worcester Bosch, amongst others.

Boiler Guide Launched – Find Local Boiler and Heating Engineers

1

We’re pleased to announce our sister site Boiler Guide has been launched, the site offers a complete list of nationwide engineers for the installation and servicing of gas and oil central heating boilers.

The site enables consumers to find and locate engineers in their area and in some cases request quotes directly through the site. The quote request feature is being gradually rolled out as more engineers register for the service which is currently on a 6 month free trial basis.

Popular locations include Birmingham and London alongside Manchester and Leeds and with over 8,000 engineers listed we’re hoping to supply Britain’s boiler and heating engineers with a good supply of sales leads!

Worcester Bosch Greenstar Boilers

Specialising in Gas, Oil and LPG fired boilers, Worcester Bosch has been providing quality service in the heating and hot water industry since 1962. Also known as Worcester, the Bosch group became joint owners in 1992 and have built on the success of the original Worcester Group. All of Worcester’s boilers run at a 90% or over efficiency rate which sees them as the recognised market leader for high level efficiency technology in boilers.

In keeping with the morals behind Worcester they pride themselves on using Greenstar condensing boilers which, under the SEDBUK Government energy efficiency grading, are rated ‘A’, which basically means less natural gas, LPG or oil is wasted.

The Worcester Bosch boilers currently on the market cater for various users depending on specialist needs. The Combi boiler seems to be the most popular option used by property owners as hot water is available instantly without having to wait for a storage cylinder, as with regular boilers, to heat up. The more economic option over regular gas boilers would be system boilers which pump water to the radiators making them overall more responsive.

The gas firing Worcester Bosch boilers are favoured under part 1 of the Building Regulations and can lead to results of 20% savings on domestic bills. The High efficiency Worcester Bosch Greenstar CDi range has larger heat exchangers to recycle heat which would be lost on other boilers.

Adding to Worcester Bosch’s outlook on reducing their carbon footprint all of their systems are compatible with Worcester Greenskies solar panels.
