British Gas HomeCare 300 Central Heating, Plumbing, Drains and Boiler Breakdown Cover
HomeCare 300 is a good choice should your property be on the older side as in addition to covering the boiler, central heating pipework, hot water cylinder and radiator it also includes drains. The drains cover is provided by Dyno Rod which is owned by the same company that owns British Gas, Centrica.
This is an interesting point as British Gas is the only home maintenance company that can truly provide a fully integrated and complete emergency breakdown service for your home, pretty much any competitive product relies on third party companies to cater for some emergencies which are essentially out of the providers control. Also, watch out for insurance companies providing such home cover as these are completely outsourced to contractors.
