Glow-worm were established in 1934 and have been producing heating products for the home since then. They pride themselves on providing easy to use boilers which fit in with the modern pace of life. Glow-worm categorise their boiler range with Combi, open vent and system. All offer different solutions depending on home type.
A combi boiler uses water directly from the mains pipe which offers hot water instantly. Top of Glow-worm’s list of combi boilers is the Ultracom cxi which comes with a 2 year parts and labour warranty and a SEDBUK rating, energy efficiency grading system used, of A. The Ultracom is the fourth in a line of developments which produces hot water within five seconds of usage. The Ultracom has a flashy digital display system that allows the users to specify certain programmes depending on the day of the week. At the bottom end of Glow-worms combi boilers is the Betacom C, the cheapest of the range and a SEDBUK grade of B.
Open vent boilers have taken a backseat with the introduction of combi boilers but they are still available from Glow-worm. An open vent boiler basically uses multiple tanks situated in the loft and airing cupboard. Glow-worm has two open vent boilers in the current range which are SEDBUK A and come with a 2 year warranty.
Finally, Glow-worm produce a system store boiler which can hold up to 170 litres of water, ideal for larger properties.
